La Maison Louverie is located on a 175 meter high hilltop between Bergerac and Sarlat. The luxury holiday home is suitable for 8 to 10 people and is located on the side of a small hamlet with a few houses in the area. Maison Louverie is quietly located and surrounded by woods and rich nature, and it is not far from tourism and the Dordogne river. The region is known for its bastides and wine.
Description
Located in the east of the Périgord Pourpre in the Dordogne department you will find La Maison Louverie. It has a long history. The oldest part of the building dates back to the 11th century. Over the centuries additions and changes have been made. La Maison Louverie, is a particularly charming and traditional Perigordine house and is located three kilometers south of the Dordogne rivers not far from the lively Lalinde with cafes and restaurants. It is a half hour drive to the next large town Bergerac with airport. With almost 4 hectares of private land, the garden is an oasis of peace.
The living room is 40m2 and has access to the hallway, the kitchen and the bedroom Chambre Truffe and the terrace (facing south). The living room has a fireplace with wood stove. There is a dining table with chairs, a beautiful china cupboard, built-in wall cupboard with glasses. There is a sitting room with sitting area, table with TV. The kitchen in the house has a double sink with mixer tap, a refrigerator with freezer, electric oven, electric stove, microwave, food processor (magimex) and hand mixer and enough crockery for a large group.

There are a total of 5 bedrooms, 4 of which have an en-suite bathroom.
Bedroom 1 is Chambre Figue and is a romantic, charming and spacious bedroom decorated in soft country colors and has a double bed (160 x 180 cm) with a soft classic quilted bed board. Through the bed and the Baroque mirror you have a beautiful view over the field and the garden on the south. The en-suite bathroom has a bath, separate shower, washbasin, toilet, bidet, mirror, north-facing window and heated towel rail. A side table behind the sofa can be used as a desk or for regional folders. The sofa can be converted into 2 single beds measuring 90 x 190 cm, ideal if small children want to sleep with their parents. A separate table with 2 chairs and a large wardrobe.
Bedroom 2 is Chambre Noix and is a spacious yet charming room and is full of light and has great attention to detail. The large (180 x 200 cm) four-poster bed is decorated with soft linen. A seating area in front of a fireplace is ready to use for drinking local wine or a snack. The table with four chairs is ideal as a workspace, card table or just to sort out all the cards and things to do in the area. A small refrigerator is provided. The large old wardrobe has a long standing mirror and offers enough space to store clothes.
Two large windows overlook the orchard and the garden on the south side. When you wake up, looking in the mirror over the bed, you get the first view of maybe some deer in the yard.
The stairs lead to a spacious attic where you will find bedroom 3. This 3rd bedroom has Chambre Blue, a large box spring and a small bed for a child who wants to sleep with his parents, so this room is suitable for several people. The private bathroom can be reached through a separate door in the hall. The bathroom has a shower, bidet, washbasin, toilet, heated towel rail and table for toiletries. Bedroom 4 is Chambre Truffe and is located on the ground floor and is classically furnished and has direct access to the terrace / garden and has a beautiful view from the bed over the fields and the forest. The spacious four-poster bed (2 meters by 1.80 metres) is decorated with stylish curtains and cushions. A comfortable sofa, table with a love seat. The connected bathroom has a shower, toilet, sink and heated towel rail. This room is ideal for guests bringing a dog. Bedroom 5 is Acienne Boulangerie and is an old bakery and is small but very romantic. With a double bed, a small fridge, a wardrobe, a large mirror and a sofa plus table it is a comfortable room. Two small windows overlook the orchard where many fruits and nuts grow in season. A larger window on the north side provides a cooling breeze in the summer, as does the ceiling fan. In the colder month it is very easy to heat the room and for more comfort the bed is heated with an electric blanket (on request). This room has a shared bathroom which is located in the main house. A bathrobe is provided. Due to the thick walls, there is no wifi in the room. WiFi is available in and around the house. Amenities: bathrobe, closet, settee, double bed, electric blanket, fan, refrigerator, heating, full-length mirror, private entrance, shared bathroom: toilet, shower, sink, pool towels, hand towels.
Outside
Maison Louverie has a beautifully landscaped garden with a large swimming pool (5 × 12) on a plot of 10,000m². There is also a pool shower for cooling off. There are plenty of sunbeds available for a relaxing day. In one of the outside buildings you will find the Atelier, which you can use as a summer kitchen and is located in part of the barn. This kitchen has a work island with electric oven, gas stove, a SMEG fridge-freezer, a sink with mixer tap, pots and pans (is for gas), dishes, cutlery, glasses and a round table with 4 chairs. Optionally 2 chairs can be added. You will also find a terrace with table and 8 chairs, lounge set. A picnic bench at the barbecue. A lounge set in the shade. 2 private lounge chairs for game viewing in the evening. Tables and chairs in the sun and shade, various hammocks. Large enclosed garden ideal for dogs and small children. There is a private field and forest with walking path where you can take wonderful walks and on request there is archery equipment and badminton equipment available.
La Maison Louverie is located just below the pleasant town of Lalinde. The region has many attractions, such as 2000 year old caves, but also the many bastides and vineyards. Canoes can be hired in the area to sail the Dordogne River. Lalinde has a lively market every week where various regional products are sold.
