Les Combes de Domme is a lovely villa with private tennis court and heated swimming pool, ideally located at 5 minutes from the Royal Bastide de Domme on top of a hill in the middle of a forest (40ha), with a splendid view towards the Lot region. The solid wooden front door opens onto the entrance hall, with its high ceiling and glazed french door leading onto the terrace and garden. A large open plan living area, with comfortable sofas, coffee tables and fireplace, and picture windows looking out over the garden and views. A dining area with large wooden table and chairs, seating 12. A fully equipped kitchen, with hob, oven, dishwasher, fridge freezer, coffee machine, microwave, toaster. On the other side of the entrance hall is the sleeping space: A double bedroom, with large double bed, wardrobe, bedside tables and an ensuite bathroom with WC, bath shower and washbasin. A second double bedroom, with large double bed, wardrobe, bedside tables and its own private shower room, with WC, and shower.
During the high season, preference is given to a rental of two consecutive weeks.
A wooden staircase leads to the first floor: A bedroom with two single beds which can be joined together to make a large double bed. A children's bedroom with a bunk bed accommodating two children. A third bedroom with 4 single beds, both having the possibility to be joined together to make two large double beds. A family bathroom with bath, WC and washbasin.
Outside
The private tarmaced road winds through the private woodland, and emerges on the plateau where the house, tennis court and swimming pool benefit from the superb views.The heated pool, measures 12m x 5m, and has sun loungers and parasols, to shelter you from the heat of the sun. The full size tennis court offering a sporting and leisure activity on site. A large terrace, with table and chairs, barbecue and electric blind offer an idyllic spot to enjoy long al fresco meals, and a corner terrace is even equipped with an outside corner fireplace, for cooler evenings.
The gite is situated just 6 kms from the beautiful, medieval village of Domme. Domme is an attraction in itself. Built in the 13th century, it stands above a bend in the river Dordogne. Its history is fascinating and its old buildings and streets have been perfectly preserved. It has restaurants of all grades, a weekly market and its own caves accessible from the market square.
Within easy reach are the medieval town of Sarlat (much used in film sets), the amazing cave systems of Perigord, the spectacular chateaux of Castelnaud, Beynac and Montfort and the troglodyte villages of LaRoque Gageac and St Christophe.
Activities
Golf is available at the Domaine de Rochebois (7km away) and near Siorac, there is canoeing on the river, riding 9km away and tennis courts are available at Domme.
