Le Moulin de Font Gème is a beautifully restored 17th century mill-house with a barn, each for 6 persons. During the high season Le Moulin is being rented in total for 12 people. in mid and off season only the barn for 6 people. Large peaceful garden with mill stream and private swimming pool. Not appropriate for little children. Location in a hamlet in the Lot at 3 km from Prayssac with all shops.
Description
Le Moulin de Font Gème is a 17th century water mill, newly restored to a very high standard and taking advantage of the traditional proportions of local architecture: built over cellars with high ceilings, tall windows with wooden shutters, and the large stone chimney breast. Light and airy, the Moulin remains cool in summer. The entrance leads into to a south facing salon and cloakroom, with French doors opening onto a sunny terrace with table and chairs and views along the valley.
The main room is spacious and airy with a kitchen/sitting room with wood burning stove and table and chairs (space for 8). The kitchen is equipped with a range cooker (5 gas hobs and 2 electric ovens), fridge, dishwasher.
There are three bedrooms (one with a double bed - 2 with each 2 single beds), two in the roof with a bathroom/WC; and the third, a large double bedroom with en suite shower and WC leading off the ground floor.
La Grange (the barn) is an old stone barn of lovely proportions lying beside the mill stream, converted to provide a comfortable and elegant interior. The large ground floor room (50sqm) has a modern fully equipped kitchen, sitting area with wood burning stove and a large oak dining table (seating up to 10). The kitchen is equipped with dishwasher, electric oven, 2 electric hobs, 2 gas hobs, fridge-freezer, microwave. Two French doors open onto the large shady terrace with table and chairs for 10-12 people, and a third leads to the garden and pool.
Upstairs there are three bedrooms. Two with a double bed and one with two single beds. There are two bathrooms (a bathroom/WC with bath and shower, a shower room/WC, both equipped with hairdryers)
The two properties have wi-fi access.
Laundry equipment (washing machine, tumble dryer, washing line and airier, iron and ironing board) are shared between Le Moulin and La Grange, in one of the cellars. There is also a separate deep freeze.

Outside
The large peaceful gardens lie alongside the old mill stream with plenty of space for games, relaxing and outdoor meals. In front of the property there is a rose garden while at the back of the barn mature trees framing the open grass with paths leading to the 11 meter swimming pool, and views of the walnut orchard and the valley beyond. Barn: Large terrace with table and chairs, changing room with WC, electric kettle. Chaises longues and picnic table. Darts available under cover in one of the former workshops. Seating 12 people. Weber barbecue.
The house is located at 1km from Bélaye, 3 km from Prayssac and 10 km from Puy L'evequ. Prayssac and Puy L'eveque have weekly markets, supermarkets and restaurants. It is located at 2km from the Lot river which provides swimming and canoeing. There are many excellent restaurants within a few miles of the property. The principle town of the department is Cahors which is about 48 km to the east. Cahors is connected by motorways to the channel ports.
