One of beautifullest accommodations in a unique location

Beynac-et-Cazenac, Perigord Noir (Dordogne)

La Perle de Beynac is a beautiful detached house with spacious 3 bedrooms and a great private swimming pool and a beautiful view located in the most beautiful village of the Dordogne, Beynac-Et-Cazenac. La Perle de Beynac is the old post office of Beynac and has been completely renovated and offers a lot of luxury and comfort. La Perle de Beynac is very suitable for a large family or group of friends, up to 7 guests. You will enjoy the panoramic view of the Dordogne valley, the tranquility of the walled garden, the private swimming pool and the history that you can taste from every stone.

The original doorway of the post office leads directly to the open living room with a large kitchen, which is fully equipped with all appliances such as a professional gas hob, oven, microwave, dishwasher, coffee maker, toaster, kettle and much more. The spacious and cozy living room is equipped with a leather sofa and armchairs around the original fireplace, now equipped with an efficient wood burning stove, coffee table and lamps. There is a flat-screen TV and a dining table for 6 people. The sliding door opens onto the terrace where you can dine outside and there is also a private swimming pool.

There are 3 bedrooms. Bedroom 1 is the garden bedroom with its own bathroom, two single beds and a medieval stone arch with doors to the garden that is located on the south. Bedroom 2 is the balcony bedroom and also has an ensuite bathroom, a king-size bed and double French doors that offer panoramic views of the valley below. Bedroom 3 also has its own bathroom, a king-size bed and an antique 'sleigh' bed. The bedroom also has a beautiful vaulted beamed ceiling along with a ceiling fan. Just like in the living room, all bedrooms have a panoramic view of the Dordogne river and the surrounding castles.

At every moment of the day you have an amazing view of the Dordogne river. There is a wonderfully sunny south-facing terrace next to the kitchen. The terrace is equipped with table and chairs where you can enjoy breakfast in the sun or where you can enjoy a good glass of wine in the afternoon with a view of a beautiful landscape and beautiful sunsets. The newly furnished pool-level terrace also offers table and chairs and a large gas barbecue for outdoor dining on warm summer days. Do not forget the private swimming pool (3.5x6mx1.20m deep) where you can cool off or enjoy the sun in one of the sun loungers and where you can again enjoy the panoramic view of the valley.

What a great view, really unique and the house is also fantastic!

La Perle de Beynac is a lovingly resored stone home perched over the Dorgogne River. On most mornngs and at sunset, we watched the hot air balloons flying over the valley. The home is well equipped with everything required for a comfortable stay, including a terrace and outdoor grill for dining al fresco and a small pool for cooling off at the end of a hot summer day. Although there is no air conditioning, the house was cool at night with the windows open. As noted in the listing, the house is located in a medieval village and you need to be prepared to walk up a steep incline to get there. Although parking is available near the house, it is challenging because of the very narrow roadway. Like many other reviewers, I would recommend parking below in the village car parks. My family thoroughly enjoyed this very special place and highly recommend it!
We loved our stay at Beynac et Cazenac! The spacious abode had rustic aspects but modern amenities. We enjoyed walking to dinner several evenings and the views were spectacular! We found delightful activities in the area. I would definitely return for another French get-a-away!
A gorgeous home in a spectacular setting. The view is truly breathtaking. A prefect location from which to visit the region. Plus wonderfully welcoming hosts.
The house and the town are just amazing. There is a postcard picture from every single vantage point. So close to the centre of town and the serenity was incredible. The spectacle of the old church bells as the sun sets, while hot air balloons pass by just added to the adventure. Then there is a pool overlooking the river…simply spectacular. We couldn’t believe the views were even better than the pictures online. Throw in a great kitchen and BBQ setting - it was an ideal holiday for us. I would say to all those intrepid adventurers - definitely don’t drive up to the house! Loved every minute
We have been going to France each year for almost 15yrs and this is by far the best house and location we have stayed at. House is stunning throughout and has had a lot of beautifully restored renovations to the exterior which have been tastefully done and in keeping with the area. It is very comfortable throughout and has been planned and equipped very well. It has everything you could possibly need. The outside area is a delight for dining out with a gas bbq and an outside kitchen area equipped with fridge and freezer (really handy when in the pool!). Everything was immaculate on our arrival. Lovely swimming in the pool overlooking the river! The views are truly stunning and the location could not be better as there is so much to do and see in the area. We have 2 teenagers and the tv was not used once in 2wks which says a lot about the house! I could not recommend this place highly enough, just perfect in every way! So much so we booked next year before this holiday finished!! Thanks Matt and Liz for allowing us to experience your wonderful home.
A very comfortable free-standing house with plenty of space located in a quiet village with good access to interesting local areas. Kitchen is quite well equipped and beds are good. Walking distance to several restaurants and a small grocery store. Wonderful view!
The property was beautiful. Location was amazing. Hosts were great with communication. A holiday we will always remember. The views were breathtaking.
My husband and I stayed in La Perle de Beynac in Beynac for a week. I would like to thank Sabine and Samantha for all they did to help us make the stay wonderful. Truly above and beyond. And the house was fabulous. Great views. Lovely spaces. A gem.
Charmante maison avec une splendide vue dans un beau village médiéval.
Village house on the Dordogne

Three of us spent two lovely weeks here in July 2019. This is a well maintained home perfectly situated in beautiful Beynac--overlooking the Dordogne and below the castle--and is perfect for touring the Perigord Noir. Other than loading and unloading figure that you will leave your car in the parking lot by the river--the steep cobbled alley up to the house is picturesque in the extreme but too much to handle, even in a small car, on a routine basis, and the river lot is very convenient and a bargain at 13 euros a week. Fellow Americans should not be concerned about the lack of air conditioning--we were there in a three-day, 105 degree heatwave and found that the ceiling fans and breezes off the river kept the house comfortable--and the pool was very welcome. The owners and local manager were very responsive, and the owners provide detailed instructions and advice for the area that were very helpful. Among local activities we recommend a Bergerac wine tasting tour with Max at Duck & Truffle, a cooking class with Ian at Le Chevrefeuille, dinner at the night markets at Audrix and St. Cyprien, and the Tuesday morning market at Le Bugue--all within an easy drive of the house. Two restaurants located within two minutes of the house, La Terrasse du Chateau and La Petite Tonnelle are both wonderful (book in advance on The Fork). Don't go without first reading a few of Martin Walker's Bruno novels--they are a great introduction to the area.
A perfect base for exploring the Dordogne

Breathtaking views, spacious bedrooms and a central location make the Ancienne Poste an ideal base to explore the chateaux, gardens and caves of the region. The charming town of Beynac-et-Cazenac offers restaurants, sight-seeing and shopping within walking distance. Highly recommended.
Amazing views - Great house

Second time staying in this house and hope to do it again. Wonderful location. Lovely house with open floor plan on main floor, bright, airy. Window seats overlooking the Dordogne and several chateaux. Narrow street up to the house so rent a slim car. Great base from which to see the beautiful Perigord Noir.
Great stay!

Four of us stayed at "The old post office" in late April. It was magical! Liz and Matt could not have been more gracious. We did have a couple of "hiccups " ( a couple of them self- inflicted) and they were promptly and efficiently dealt with. The detailed information about the property, town and local events provided by Liz and Matt could not have been more helpful. The village itself is spectacular, although be prepared for the steep access. We all are in our mid-60's to early 70's and in pretty good shape but usually had to stop once or twice on our way home.

One of the services suggested by Liz and Matt was a car service, Taxi a la Carte. We engaged them to take us back and forth to a cooking class in nearby St. Cyprian ( wine was involved) and for a winery tour. They did a great job at a very reasonable fee.

We had dinner at La Petite Tonnelle twice. It was very good and very reasonably priced.

We had no intention of going on a balloon flight, but after seeing the balloons float by every morning and evening we decided to do it. It was expensive but well worth it.

There are still a lot of places that we want to see in the world, but if we ever have the chance to return to " our home" in Beynac, we certainly will.
Great stay in Beynac

Had a great stay at this property in Beynac! Historic charm with modern amenities, great location and fantastic views. The owners provided a lot of helpful information and were always quick to reply to any inquiries. Would definitely stay here again and recommend to others.

It is rare that I feel at home in places other than the place that is officially my home address. This remarkable home invited me into that glorious state with its stunning views of gorgeous countrysides, an authentic setting in a deliciously cozy village, and extraordinarily gracious hosts that tended to every detail. I felt supremely at home in the embrace of this magnificent setting. The dance of the hot air balloons each night along the Dordogne River added to the dreamlike atmosphere that gently held and cared for me. Be prepared to be pampered by the Dordogne, Beynac and this fabulous home.
