Vineyard Tour
If all the times in visiting the Dordogne you have never ventured into a vineyard to see how it is all done, then this is the place for you. We will show you around the property explaining all the work that takes place on the vineyard and looking after the vines. You will then be given a tour of the 'chai' where the wine is made. Then of course you can have a tasting session to sample all our wines. If you are lucky to be here at harvest time you will see exactly what happens. We pick a large quantity of our grapes by hand and then prepare them before they get placed in to the chai, where all the magic happens. If you are here when we are machine harvesting it can be arranged for you to ride on the vendange machine with our driver Bertron and see how it is all done. It is a very busy and tiring time of year, but guaranteed to be alot of fun too.

This fantastic gite has constantly exceeded our expectations!

It has two doctors, a dentist, pharmacy, boulangerie, epicerie, charcuterie, 2 bar/restaurants and a recently renovated hotel, with an excellent restaurant. Two minutes away is the Lac de Gurson which offers boating, fishing, swimming, windsurfing, horse riding and tennis. There are also four inexpensive bar/restaurants and the large sandy beach has two snack bars and a water chute. Golf at Chateau de Vigier is 30km away. Villefranche de Lonchat has a night market, every Friday, during July and August, which include music, dancing and BBQ!
The nearest town is Montpon (10 minutes by car). Ste Foy la Grande and Castillion de Bataille are close by. The medieval town of St Emilion, the world famous wine centre, with its many gastronomic restaurants is only 15 minutes away.

Clean and well equipped gite
Very clean, neat and well equipped gite. We stayed in October so couldn't use pool, but we probably wouldn't have anyway as it wasn't very private from the winery work area when it is being used. Nevertheless it was very quiet and peaceful (despite the grape pressing going on!). Good hosts who are on hand but not in your face, with the added bonus of good wine to buy on your doorstep!

Lovely gite with private pool
Really lovely gite with a great private pool. Set on a vineyard next to the English owners' house. Rural views - some minor road noise. Very clean and decorated to a high standard with all you could want for a relaxing stay. Kitchen very well equipped to cater for a family. Comfy beds and fans available if hot.

Peace and quiet amongst the vines.
This is a wonderfully peaceful and secluded spot to enjoy a family break. The accommodation has plenty of space for a family of 4 with two older teenagers. We particularly enjoyed the sitting out areas - with one perfect for breakfast and lunch and one at the back where you can have dinner and watch the sun set. Our hosts Sasha and Robin were there whenever we needed them, but were also very happy to leave us in peace and quiet when all was fine. They also left us a wonderful welcome basket including a couple of bottles of their very drinkable wine. Many thanks again!

Beautiful location, amazing stay!
We’ve just returned from a great week away in the sunshine at Sasha & Robin’s place! It was clean, tidy and had all the facilities we needed for our stay. Everything was as described online. Sasha & Robin were the perfect hosts and couldn’t do enough for us - even providing us with a wine tasting tour! The Gite is set in a beautiful, remote location with amazing views. The Lac De Gurson is definitely worth a visit as is the local Friday night market. We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday here and would recommend to anyone to go and stay!

Ken M. august 2017 We relaxed the minute we arrived at The Vine House. A
warm friendly welcome from Sacha and the dogs and we knew we had made a
great choice to stay at this wonderful gite. We got into the pool on day 2
after settling in and Robin gave us a tour of the winery. We had already
tasted his red and rose which were in our welcome pack and we had no
hesitation in buying some more. The gite has everything you need and there
is always something to watch whilst you relax as the dogs, cats and rooster
and his ladies all keep you entertained. Sacha and Robin were most helpful
advising on the best markets and we had a lovely evening at the night
market festival in Villefranche de Lonchat on the Friday night. The caf?
in the village had a good value lunch whilst the evening mean in the hotel
L'un des sens was excellent. The Lac du Gursan was great for walking round
but we do recommend visits to St Emillion, Bergerac, Perigueux, St Jean,
Brantome, and of the course Bordeaux Hope to go back and recommend to
anyone looking for a tranquil base to explore the region.

Tim D. We stayed in Sept 2017 The gite is fantastic, and well appointed
with all the mod cons , simply everything you need. Sasha and Robin met us
on arrival with a lovely welcome pack , just what we needed and a super
surprise. The place is clean and very tidy. Loved the chickens and the dogs
who just seem to know the right time to appear. It?s a pity we didn?t
have better weather and that?s the only gripe we had. I must say this is
a great base to visit and see the surrounding towns countryside chateaus
and in travelling distance to Cognac, Perigeaux St Emillion and also
Bordeaux all which we did during outr short visit. Highly recommended many
thanks.

Peter B. After a long and tiresome ride we were welcomed by Sasha's smile.
At once we felt at home. Robin came to check whether we were okay. And we
felt safe. Wonderful hosts who had provided us with a starting packet of
food, including their own wine!We could always address them, they were
there, modest and helpful. Wallace, the dog, completed the friendly
atmosphere. How free we were in 'our' Vine House, how deeply we could
breathe among the fields. How we enjoyed the clean pool, the wide garden,
the healthy environment, the gorgeous skies, the cosy villages and glorious
cities in the region. While other tourists suffered from a cold and rainy
France, we lived in a kind of micro climate between two rivers that drove
the clouds away, so Robin explained. We ate outside, barbecued, swam, went
sightseeing or just read a book under a blue sky. THE place to be,
obviously! On the domain we visited 'le chai' (the winery) where Robin told
us all about wine-making. And we tasted the owners' marvellous wines. Our
stay at the Vine House offered more than the description promised. A clean
and well-equipped gite, the friendliest hosts, a unique nature and culture,
peace and quiet. Everything highly recommendable. Thanks, Sasha and Robin!

Belinda H. August 2013 From the moment we arrived this fabulous Gite
continually exceeded our expectations. The views from the property were
wonderful. Sasha and Robin were welcoming, helpful and great fun but never
in your way. The Gite was well equipped and just the right amount of style
and homeliness - a home from home. The friends we shared the Gite with were
a little worried as they had a difficult special needs adult son. He was
not only welcomed but was able to work with Robin in the vineyard - which
he thoroughly enjoyed. We arrived as clients and left as friends. What a
wonderful place to spend our holiday - thank you Sasha, Robin and family.
