Description
Villa Fournel is a beautifully renovated farmhouse. The large glass areas in the living room allow a lot of light to enter, creating a very contemporary atmosphere. The villa is tastefully decorated and natural materials such as stone and oak have been used.
The villa is fully equipped: washing machine, dishwasher, microwave, gas stove, oven, coffee maker, kettle, hairdryer, ironing board and iron, connected TV, DVD player, vinyl record player, connected speaker and wireless internet access. Board games, books and vinyl are at your disposal and for your youngest children they will find something to keep themselves busy on the landing on the 1st floor: comics, games, toys and books (French and English)
There are 4 bedrooms
On the ground floor there are two bedrooms with a double bed and a private bathroom. Two other two bedrooms are located upstairs. One bedroom is the master bedroom with a double bed and en suite bathroom; and the other is a twin bedroom with a bathroom next to it. Cot and high chair available. Bed linen, towels and a hairdryer are provided.
To make the holiday complete for everyone, there is a ping-pong table, molki or jeu de boules game and a football goal. In short, enough to spend a very good holiday at Villa Fournel.
Outside
The garden of approximately 2,000 m² offers a nice play area for the little ones near the swimming pool and a large meadow on the other side of the house. The courtyard offers plenty of shade due to the large centuries-old tree, and is ideal for lazing on hot summer days or for having an aperitif. Unless you prefer to laze around the south-facing swimming pool (equipped with alarm), 10m x 5, with small/large pool and stairs, ideal for children. A walking path runs past the house on the meadow side - rarely used given the quiet location of the hamlet.
Villa Fournel is situated in a quiet and rural farm location between Campagnac lès Quercy (3km) and Pompont (1km). An ideal setting to unwind from the usual hustle and bustle, listen to the bird life and watch the stars. However it is also perfectly placed for visits to tourist attractions, activity spots, local markets and shops within the Dordogne and Lot Valley regions. For every day shopping the nearest village shop is in Campagnac or St Pompont. For larger weekly shops, Gourdon and Fumel have large supermarkets-Intermarche, Champion Leclerc etc and a wide choice of bakers, butchers etc. The markets are great fun and Cazals (Sunday), Prayssac (Friday) and Cahors (Wednesday). Nearby towns for French markets, shops, restaurants, wine and café life: Domme, Sarlat, Gourdon, Rocamadour, Cazals and St Cyprien.
Activities
Grojelac – lake and water sports, Padirac – cave, Lascaux – cave. Whether canoeing under the shadow of castle topped cliffs, savoring a river cruise, walking through endless woodland or experiencing un-touched village life, this historically impressive area of France has something for everyone. The nearest beaches are on the Dordogne and are a short drive 7-10km away. Cenac, Vitrac and Soleil Plage all have beaches where river fishing can be arranged (a permit has to be purchased by the day at the local Marie) and where canoes and kayak can be hired for half or full day descents of the river. Similar facilities are available on the Vezere and Lot rivers. Golf at Vitrac.
