Villa du Guet is a beautiful medieval holiday home for 6 to 7 people in Domme with a private heated swimming pool and a fantastic unobstructed view over the beautiful rolling countryside.
Villa du Guet is located on a unique location on the remparts of the beautiful village of Domme with stunning views over the countryside, and a very short walk from the village's restaurants, shops and attractions. The house has a heated pool in a beautiful garden and private parking for two cars, all located in a narrow, quiet street.
The front door opens directly into the living room with a beautiful fireplace and through the door you will find the very well equipped kitchen with dining area. Another door leads to the games room with table tennis and dart board. The staircase takes you to one of the bedrooms with an antique, king-size bed and a private bathroom with shower, sink and toilet. The window offers a beautiful view of the garden and the hills in the distance.
From the living room there is also a staircase to the library on the first floor with a large collection of books (fiction, non-fiction and special books about the area and its history), a flat screen TV and DVD. The beautifully decorated master bedroom is on the same floor with a full size four poster bed and en-suite bathroom. In the attic you will find the third bedroom with a king-size, antique bed and a single bed - for extra sleeping comfort. This bedroom also has its own bathroom and spectacular views over the village and countryside.
From the kitchen you have access through the doors to the terrace with table and chairs and a gas barbecue. The stairs lead to a small lawn and a path to the heated swimming pool, surrounded by a sunbathing area and exotic plants and shrubs. The site is fenced so that children cannot run onto the road. After a day of swimming or sunbathing, you only have to walk a few minutes to the center of Domme with its many restaurants ranging from bistro and pizzeria to world-class gastronomic standards.
Domme is an attraction in itself. Built in the 13th century, it sits above a bend in the Dordogne river. Its history is fascinating and its old buildings and streets have been perfectly preserved. It has restaurants of all classes, a weekly market and its own cave, which is accessible from the market square.
A short distance away are the medieval town of Sarlat (widely used in film scenes), the amazing cave system of Périgord, the spectacular chateaux of Castelnaud, Beynac and Montfort and the troglodyte (caveman) villages of LaRoque Gageac and St Christophe.
There are golf courses in the Domaine de Rochebois (7km) and the nearby Siorac; you can canoe on the river (4km), horseback riding at 4km and there are tennis courts in Domme.
