Cabrerets is a small village at the confluence of the rivers Sagne and Célé, dominated by the castle of Gontaud Biron. Gastronomy: foie gras, duck confit, and the inevitable cabécou, a goat cheese. Castles and historic sites to visit: Château de Cénevières, St. Cirq Lapopie, cave houses, dolmen, frescoes of Bouziès, boat rentals, museums, La Grotte du Pech-Merle - a large, accessible cave with spectacular stalactites and stalagmites. Le défilé des Anglais. Visit this spectacle on one of the river trips from Bouziès, just 5 minutes away on the River Lot.
Cahors, the departmental capital with a cathedral. It is just 30 minutes drive from Trédède and Cahors is famous for its Roman bridge and secret gardens.
Saint Cirq Lapopie. Just 10 minutes drive away is one of the prettiest villages in France. It occupies a most remarkable setting clinging to the side of the Lot Valley. The timber-framed houses are packed close in steep, shady, cobbled medieval streets. A number of artisans such as potters, leather workers, silk screeners and jewelers now live here adding a picturesque attraction with colorful bars and restaurants.
