La Gaillardenque is a 19th Century Quercy-style farmhouse for 10 to 12 persons, set amongst the vineyards of the Lot valley in a rural area at 10 km from Puy L'Eveque. The property consist of the farmhouse itself (8 persons) , a cottage (4 persons) and a private pool.
Description farmhouse (6 to 8 persons)
The Farmhouse has been fully renovated but retains many of its original features.
Ground floor: A typical French farmhouse kitchen fully equipped with a gas range cooker , microwave , Foreman grill , electric oven , wine/beer chiller , fridge/freezer , toaster , TV (Sky) , and a table with 6 chairs. Adjacent to the kitchen is a large dining / sitting room with a oak presbytery table that seats 10 persons. There is also a utility area on the ground floor with a washing machine and ironing facilities.
1st Floor: A large lounge with a wood burning stove , WIFI, TV (Sky) , DVD , VCR , 3 Comfortable sofas , (one of which converts into a double bed) and 2 easy-chairs. 3 Bedrooms ( 2 bedrooms with a double bed and 1 bedroom with bunk beds) . 2 Bathrooms with shower, washbasin and toilet. One of the bathrooms is en-suite to one of the bedrooms with a double bed.
Description cottage (2 to 4 persons)
The Cottage consists of a large living / dining/ kitchen , a bedroom with a double bed, and a bathroom with shower and toilet - utility room. The Cottage is fully equipped with a cooker , microwave , Foreman grill ,fridge / freezer , dining table with 4 chairs , washing machine , Sky TV and 2 day-beds in the lounge (large enough for adults.)
Outside
A south-facing tiled patio. A shaded area for dining by the pool. Also large open terraces on all 4 sides of the pool for sun-bathing. The 10m x 5m pool has roman steps at the shallow end , which are ideal for small children or less confident swimmers. The pool is completely walled and gated to meet the strict legislation now in force. In the garden there is a children’s multi-swing play area and a water slide by the pool.
La Gaillardenque is rurally situated between the small villages of Floressas and Serignac at only 6 km of the river Lot (canoeing , fishing , pleasure boats , etc. ) . It is approximately 10 km from the beautiful towns of Puy L'Eveque , Prayssac and Tournon d'Agenais.
There are many excellent restaurants within a few miles of the property. The principle town of the department is Cahors which is about 48 km to the east. Cahors is connected by motorways to the channel ports. Serignac has a general store / bakery open 7 days a week . A horse riding centre is only 1 mile from the house. Airports near to the property are Bergerac (1hr) , Brive (1hr), Toulouse (1.5hr) and Bordeaux ( 2hr ).
