Gite du Gardien is a fantastic holiday home for 4 people and is furnished with great taste and comfort. Gite du Gardien is located in the heart of the picturesque hamlet of Les Milandes, next to the fabulous chateau, famous for its former resident singer Josephine Baker.
Gite du Gardien was part of its Global Village and provided additional accommodation for the former caretaker of the chateau.
Gite du Gardien has been beautifully renovated and offers quality and tasteful accommodation, fantastic views of the chateau itself and of the Dordogne valley. Gite du Gardien has its own terrace and shares the beautiful swimming pool with the neighboring gite.

Gite du Gardien has a compact but fully equipped kitchen with hob, fridge freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, microwave, kettle, coffee maker. A dining area with a table and four chairs and patio doors leading to the private terrace
A few steps lead to the lovely living room, with two comfortable armchairs, sofa, coffee table, flat screen TV and lamps
A wooden staircase leads to the first floor.
There are 2 bedrooms
The first bedroom has a king size bed with built-in wardrobe, bedside tables, lamps and chest of drawers. This bedroom has its own bathroom with shower, a large shower, sink and toilet.
The second bedroom has two single beds, bedside tables and lamps. This bedroom also has a private bathroom with bath and shower, vanity unit and toilet.
For the comfort of our guests, bed linen, towels and beach towels are provided and beds are made upon arrival. There is a mobile air conditioner and there is WiFi everywhere.

Gite du Gardien has its own private terrace with a round table and comfortable rattan chairs overlooking the valley. It is ideal for alfresco dining with its barbecue and parasol. Gite du Gardien shares a beautiful swimming pool of 7.5 x 3.5 m with the neighboring gite for 4 people. At the pool you will find sun loungers and parasols. There is also private parking and an electric car charger.

For total immersion in the culture of Les Milandes and the legacy of Josephine Baker, the owners are pleased to invite you to the weekly "Soirée Guingette", an evening of music, dance and food at the nearby Parc de Josephine Baker, designed and built by Josephine herself in the 1940s! (July and August only)
Rate includes all costs and services except the tourist tax and 3% service charge
An intermediate cleaning is available on request and final cleaning is also included
Terms of payment:
- 25% deposit required at booking
- balance one month before arrival.
- Deposit of 1000 euros to be paid by credit card reservation with the final payment
Gite du Gardien is located in the middle of a picturesque hamlet near the famous Renaissance castle. All the "must see" sights of the Black Périgord are within a radius of 25 km from the house, which is the ideal base to explore the area. The village of Castelnaud, also famous for its castle, this time medieval, is 4 km from the house where you will find shops and restaurants, and you can swim in the river and rent canoes.
