Forte de Montaut is a beautiful manor that has been converted into a holiday home for 12 people and is located in the south of the Dordogne. This luxury holiday home is located on top of a hill and offers breathtaking views of the surrounding countryside. There is a large heated pool, games room and 6 good sized bedrooms. That makes Forte de Montaut the ideal place for families or friends.
Description
Forte de Montaut is spread over 3 floors. The large living room has a cozy wood burning stove, satellite TV and access to one of the many terraces and views over the valley. On the ground floor there is a chefs kitchen and a separate large dining room with a dining table for 12 people, a wood burning stove and patio doors to another beautiful terrace overlooking the garden.
There are six modern double bedrooms, all with en-suite shower rooms.
Bedrooms 1, 2 and 3 are air-conditioned and located on the top floor.
Bedroom 4 with double shower is on the 1st floor and is next to the large lounge, with a French balcony with views over the surrounding countryside.
Bedroom 5 has its own entrance and courtyard and opens onto the dining room.
Bedroom 6 is reached by a few steps down from the terrace and separate from the main house and is equipped with en-suite facilities and a small kitchenette.

On site there is also a large games room with table tennis, pool table, board games, TV and a library of DVDs for guests to use. This games room also features its own kitchen and shower facilities and is ideal if you are going on holiday with teenagers or young adults.
Outside
Forte de Montaut is located on a 1.3 hectare site and offers panoramic views of the countryside, a large heated private swimming pool (11 x 4.6) in a great setting, fruit trees and several terraces for outdoor dining, socializing or just relax with a book and a glass of wine from the local vineyards.
The low season rate (September to July) is based on 8 people. Each additional person pays 100 euros per week.
Forte de Montaut was in use as a Bed & Breakfast in recent years, but the new owners prefer to rent the house as an independent luxury Manoir for groups of friends or several families. So you will be with your family / group of friends at all times and will not have to share the house / pool with others.
Located in the Périgord hills in a quiet location, Forte de Montaut offers the ideal starting point to explore the many beautiful bastides in the area, such as Montpazier or Montflanquin. Just 3 km away is the medieval village of Issigeac, with its famous bustling Sunday market, fantastic restaurants and artisan shops. Amenities include bakery, butcher, bank, pharmacy and local supermarket. The beautiful town of Bergerac, on the banks of the Dordogne River, is a 15 minute drive with large supermarkets and an international airport.
