Just a stone’s throw from the charming town of Thiviers lies the majestic Château de la Guerinchie. This characterful castle from the early 17th century has been lovingly restored and renovated to an exceptionally high standard, with an eye for detail. Here, historical grandeur and modern comfort come together. With sleeping space for fourteen guests (and space for an additional four in the adjacent accommodation “the Grange”), the château offers an unforgettable experience for families or groups of friends.
A place full of experiences
Explore the extensive 4.5 hectare estate, walk through the private forest, greet the frogs by the lake and the cows in the neighbouring meadow. Play a game of table tennis in the orchard, or take a refreshing dip in the large swimming pool. Rainy day? No problem – the château has an impressive range of indoor activities: a pool table, board games, chess sets, a large television and comfortable spaces to relax.
Authentic and comfortable
The château has eight spacious bedrooms, each with its own bathroom. One of these is on the top floor and there is also a separate children’s bedroom. The recently renovated kitchen is equipped with a magnificent Lacanche oven – a dream for any cooking enthusiast. In addition, the château has a games room, a 90-inch TV, high-speed internet, a barbecue, indoor and outdoor dining areas, and a generous woodland area for walking and cycling.
Extra space in the Grange
The completely renovated Grange offers extra space and privacy for four guests. With two spacious bedrooms (both en-suite), a comfortable living room and a modern kitchen, it is the ideal addition for larger parties. The Grange is located approximately 200 metres from the main house, with its own driveway, garden and entrance. When both properties are rented together, a harmonious setting is created with a shared outdoor seating area for 18 people.
Prices are based on 14 people staying in the château. The Grange can be booked from €1,240 per week (depending on the season).
Enjoy outdoor living and gastronomy
Outside, a private swimming pool awaits you with sun loungers and towels. The pergola in the orchard houses an atmospheric outdoor kitchen, perfect for long summer evenings around the fire pit (firewood from our own forest included). On request, our fantastic private chef will come and cook or we can organise an exclusive wine tasting – all on location.
The town of Thiviers – everything within reach
Within walking distance is the lively Thiviers, known for its gastronomy and markets. The town has no fewer than five supermarkets, three bakeries, two garages, several bars and one of the best butchers in the region. Thiviers is also the culinary heart of foie gras – with several farms nearby where you can taste this regional delicacy. For children, there are donkey farms, adventure parks and playgrounds, and for the sporty guests there are cycling routes and skating areas.
Location and accessibility
The château is just a 10-minute walk from Thiviers station. From here, there are direct train connections to major cities, including Paris. By car, it is approximately 2.5 hours from Bordeaux, 55 minutes from Limoges, 30 minutes from Périgueux and one hour from Bergerac. All of the cities mentioned have an airport.
