Jolanda and Theo van Os would like to welcome you at La Grenouille Vacances in the beautiful Hautefort. La Grenouille offers a small gîte (holiday home) and a comfortable small campsite with a big swimming pool near the beautiful village of Hautefort in the Dordogne, France. La Grenouille Vacances is situated on a plateau in the countryside with forests and meadows on the border of the Périgord ‘blanc’ and the Périgord ‘vert’. There is a fabulous variety of plants and animals in this region. Deer are regular grazers on our land whilst on starry nights you can be serenaded by the frogs' chorus or the hooting of owls. Pure nature – healthy, fresh air mixed with the spicy smell of a rich flora - a place to relax away from the activity of the modern world and recharge your batteries.

Camping
The mini-campsite is open from 27th odf April till the 15th of October. The camping is surrounded by forests and meadows. The spacious pitches are well maintained, private and are sunny and shaded. Three pitches are on terraces with a view over our vegetable garden, the goat- and chicken fields and the forest. On the big field overlooking the pool and scenic surroundings with in the distance the castles of Hautefort and Badefols d'Ans are also three pitches. For real peace and quiet, there are 2 Camping pitches at the forest edge.
La Grenouille Vacances has the following facilities:
Modern sanitary block – 2 showers, 2 toilets, 2 hand basins, 2 sinks, washing machine, tumble dryer, fridge, freezer and microwave. A large swimming pool with a view on the Château de Hautefort and the Château de Badefols d’Ans. A 'Fromagerie Jolanda' (cheese shop), an herb garden, in high season we offer a daily bread and newspaper service, a covered terrace shared by site users where in high season we organise BBQ evenings and free wireless internet.
'Table d’hôte', In high season we organize BBQ and paella evenings and on our attractive covered terrace we serve specialties from the Périgord and delicious dishes. Our house wine is an inexpensive Bergerac.

Caravan for hire
A fully furnished spacious caravan with large awning suitable for up to 6 people. Surface caravan approx 10m2. Surface awning approx 13m2. The caravan is a separate (lockable) bedroom with 2 x 1 single bed. The large round seat can be used as a double bed. The caravan is equipped with fridge, 3 burner stove, coffee maker, heating and toilet. Garden furniture, parasol, pans and crockery are provided. When used by 5 or 6 people we place a separate sleeping area (2 x 1 p.bed with slats) in the spacious awning. You will stay on a spacious pitch with both sun and shade, a large lawn with unobstructed views. Please bring your own sleeping bags and towels.

Gîte La Grenouille
Gite La Grenouille can accommodate for up to 4 people + baby. The house is brand new, has a lot of comfort and privacy. The kitchen is modern and equipped with fridge, freezer, microwave, dishwasher, stainless steel cooker hood, coffee maker, kettle, toaster. Private garden with large (lockable) terrace with a magnificent view. BBQ and private parking. TV / DVD, radio / CD, roller screens in bedrooms. Incl. bed linen, towels, final cleaning, WiFi. Large swimming pool, washer and dryer in common use with campsite. The cottage is well insulated and heated.
Rental all year round. In the early and late season weekend rentals and midweek rental on request. 

Surroundings
Hautefort is only 3 km from the gîte and the campsite. Here you will find a baker, a butcher, a grocery shop, a supermarket and several bars and restaurants. There are also a sculptor’s studio, an antique shop, a souvenir / stationery shop. Hautefort has a post office and there is a bank (Credit Agricole) with an ATM in St. Agnan (council of Hautefort, at 5 km). In Hautefort there is a small market every Wednesday. The big market is the first Monday of the month. The medieval village is world famous for its impressive Château de Hautefort which you can see from far away. The beautiful castle and the gardens are open to the public. The Old Hospice and the Museum of Medicine are worth visiting. You can see a seventeenth century infirmary and the museum has a large collection of medical instruments. Excursions: The famous Lascaux cave paintings. The towns of Terrasson, Brive, Sarlat, Périgueux, Brantôme (Venice of the Périgord) and Rocamadour. A visit of the vineyards of Bergerac and Bordeaux.

Activities
Canoeing on the Dordogne, the Vézère and the Auvézère. Quad, paint ball, tennis: There is a public, free accessible all weather tennis court in Hautefort / St. Agnan. Fishing: In Etang du Coucou (5km). Around the lake is a fitness trail, a walk takes about 45 minutes. Tourtoirac: Horse- and pony riding. Cherveix-Cubas: Canoeing, rafting, climbing, potholing, mountain bike rental. Thenon: an adventurous trail with tree climbing and abseilen. Hot air ballooning.
