Camping à la ferme Chez Sarazin (Brossac) is situated in the south of the Charente and is a perfect base to explore the many attractions of the Charente and the Dordogne (Périgord). Chez Sarazin consists of a camp-site, two gites and a shared swimming pool.
The camp-site
The camp-site is simple of set-up, there are 6 pitches for tents, caravans or campers. There are 2 showers, 2 toilets, 2 wash bassins and wash-bowls for the dishes and washing clothing.
Facilities
A shared scullery with washing machine, drier, ironing-board and iron. A shared swimming pool (12x6m) with sufficient shadow under the large trees. There is a play-pasture next to the swimming pool.

The region
The south of the Charente has a beautiful nature, you can go "back into the past" and enjoy the quality of life, like the local population for generations is doing in the many peaceful farmer communities. Explore the quiet surroundings, by car, bike or by a walk. You will see an unspoiled landscape, historical villages and boroughs, lakes, markets, good restaurants, cognac distilleries ....
The surroundings
From Chez Sarazin a small road leads to the hill top with the village Brossac. The old, stone houses are situated around the 12th century church. There are all kinds of facilities : jeu de boules, bakers, a butcher, a grocery, a pharmacy, restaurants, tenniscourt and a tourist office at the town hall.
Activities
Marked routes for hikers and mountainbikers. At the "Etang Vallier", at 2 km distance, swimming and fishing. There is a beach, a restaurant and horse riding facilities.
Swimming in Aubeterre (the river), Saint Aulaye (the river with water toboggan) and Le Paradou near Parcoul (a lake with water toboggan). Indoor swimming in Jonzac (with a
beach!) and Angoulême.
Sight-seeing
The beautiful borough Chalais with a 16th century castle (10 minutes) and many shops and a supermarket as well as a lively market on Monday. Aubeterre sur Dronne, a borough listed as a monument. Bordeaux, historical and world city. Saint Emilion and Cognac (wine and cognac). Angoulême, the walled capital of the Charente (shopping malls, historical monuments, strip (cartoon) museum).
