Le Basque is a luxuriously restored 14th century farm house, set in its own grounds of 6 hectare of woodlands, meadows and lawns with a private pool. Le Basque is located between the bastides Castillonnes and Villereal in the north of Lot-et-Garonne close to the Dordogne border. The house was lived in by Henry IV of France at some point during his reign and he was assassinated in Paris in 1610, albeit being perhaps the most liked of all French King’s. The immediate land area is known as “Basque” and this was Henry IV’s name.

Le Basque has 4/5 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms of which one with a jacuzzi, spacious living Room, dining room, country kitchen / breakfast room. The house sleeps 8/10 and pets are welcome.
The house is full of character and has beamed ceilings throughout. There is every modern convenience including a "Paul Bouse" double oven gas/electric range & hobs, including a childproof computerized none-residual heat hob, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine, dryer. There are 4 substantial bedrooms of which 3 bedrooms with a double bed and 1 bedroom with 2 single beds. In between the main bedroom and en-suite bathroom there is a large dressing room which has a bunk-bed for children. The house has central heating, a wood burning stove and Sky satellite TV. There is wired and wireless Internet.

Outside
A property of 6 hectare of woodlands, meadows and lawns. A private pool (12m x 6m, non-fenced) and a barn of 350 m2. There are both covered and uncovered terraces with an outside eating area and barbecue. The pool is salt rather than chloride and is maintained regularly. There are many fine walks to be taken either in the grounds or in the surrounding countryside.
